Galaxy Note Leak Shows A Significant New Feature
Time to add one more bullet point to Forbes’ list of what we know about the next Samsung Galaxy Note phablet. Alongside the return of microSD support and a Quad HD screen, China’s Zhongguancun Online suggests that the phablet could sport a dual-lens camera.
Given the Galaxy Note range is known for pushing the limits of mobile technology, the inclusion of dual lenses makes sense. It won’t be the first mobile device to carry this system - Huawei’s P9 already has such an offering – but it would be one of the first mainstream handsets to ship with the technology.
Assuming that Apple is genuinely set to reveal the iPhone 7 Plus phablet with a dual lens system, the release date of mid August gives the new Galaxy Note three weeks to claim this technology as something that the South Korean company has perfected – and leaving the average consumer wondering if Apple is playing catch-up with its September release

The new dual lens camera system would sit inside a device that is expected to come with 6 GB of RAM, Qualcomm’s latest System on Chip in the Snapdragon 823, and a 5.8 inch AMOLED screen. On board storage is expected to start at 64GB, and options could go all the way up to 256GB. Throw in waterproofing for protection, eye recognition for security, and a stylus because that’s what the Note range is known for, and you only need one more thing… to make sure that the Galaxy Note is seen as the equal to the Galaxy S7, the iPhone 7, and the iPhone 7 Plus. Calling it the Note 6 simply isn’t going to cut it.
Time to change the name and go straight to the Note 7, then?
